Replace Inefficient Equipment and Save

It can be a big decision to replace equipment if it’s still functioning. But with today’s energy costs, delaying an upgrade can actually cost you money. Investing in energy-efficient equipment can reduce operating costs and improve productivity, ease-of-use, comfort and even aesthetics. We make smart energy choices easier with financial incentives and low-interest financing to offset your upfront costs so you can cash in on years of energy-saving benefits.

Make energy efficiency a determining factor in your decision to upgrade equipment

In today's competitive environment, energy efficiency may not be at the top of your list when it comes to replacing functioning equipment. But energy cost savings and other benefits can deliver attractive returns on investment and savings for years to come. Now, with support from Energize Connecticut, you have the financial and technical assistance that will enable you to upgrade to energy-efficient equipment.

Energize Connecticut makes upgrading to energy-efficient equipment affordable. Our energy experts work with you to maximize energy cost savings by replacing or modifying inefficient, functioning equipment such as lighting, HVAC, chillers, motors, controls, water heaters and commercial cooking equipment.

We help you upgrade to high-efficiency alternatives by reducing upfront costs with:

  • Financial incentives up to 40% of the installed costs
  • Zero-interest or low-interest rate financing

The program also offers “express rebates” for common measures for fast and convenient savings.

All types of businesses are saving thousands of dollars each year. For example:

Connecticut Children’s Medical Center

  • Received a $37,000 incentive to offset its investment in high-efficiency HVAC controls
  • Saves approximately $23,000/year
  • “The Fund made it possible for us to do the right thing for our patients and the environment.” –Bob Will, Facilities Manager

The Lighting Quotient (Lighting fixture designer/manufacturer)

  • Received an $84,000 incentive to defray its investment in new gas-fired heating boilers
  • Saves approximately $30,000/year
  • “Our business is now not only innovative in our lighting solutions, but also innovative in embracing a green workplace, and this message is carried into the community by our employees. With our energy-efficient environment, our employees have a new sense of pride, and they bring this pride into their homes.” – Allison Walker, Chairman and CEO

Incentives help you save on equipment costs and continue to save on capital and operating costs.

Steps to Take Smart Energy Action

Step 1 -

Utility energy experts will work with you to identify energy-saving equipment opportunities that make sense for your business. You maintain complete control over your project.

Step 2 -

Energy Opportunities program administrators prepare a project agreement for your signature prior to ordering equipment. This agreement details all of the energy-efficient measures, estimated energy savings and anticipated incentive amounts. Information on zero-percent or low-interest financing is also provided.

Step 3 -

You work with your own preferred contractors and/or maintenance staff to purchase and install the energy-efficient equipment.

Step 4 -

After the project is completed and the measures are inspected and verified, your company or organization receives an incentive payment.
