Energy Storage Solutions Information & Tips
With the Energy Storage Solutions program, you can store energy your home or business generates from solar or energy drawn from the grid in a battery to provide a back-up power source in case of a storm-related power disruption. You can receive incentives from Eversource and UI to pay you for the energy you supply back to the grid.
Your battery storage system must be made by one of our approved manufacturers to qualify for our incentives.

Additional vendors can seek approval from Eversource and UI through an integration process.
The incentive paid to you depends on three factors 1) the incentive rate, 2) the average kW your battery contributes over the demand response season and 3) what, if any, portion of the incentive your battery installer or manufacturer collects in return for managing your participation. Please consult your battery installer or manufacturer for your battery’s expected contribution and information about what, if any, portion of the incentive they collect.
To ensure you have backup energy if you need it, you can work with your battery installer or manufacturer to specify the maximum amount of energy you want to contribute during demand response events. And to ensure you have energy if you need it, Eversource and UI will not call events if a severe storm is forecasted to ensure your battery remains fully charged.
