ENERGY STAR certified gas tankless water heaters reduce your water heating expenses by up to 30 percent while providing you with continuous hot water. Tankless models are a great choice for new construction and major remodeling because they save you an extra closet's worth of space and last longer than standard gas storage water heaters. And since they’re tankless, the risks of tank leaks and water damage can be avoided. (Source: ENERGY STAR)
Tip: Explore clean heating and cooling alternatives like heat pump water heaters, offering exceptional energy efficiency and environmental benefits. Learn more about how these systems can enhance your comfort and sustainability in your home or business
Gas storage water heater capacity is based on the number of gallons that will fit in a water heater’s tank. Tankless models are rated by how many gallons of hot water they produce per minute (GPM). The more likely you are to have the shower, dishwasher, and clothes washer going at the same time, the larger the GPM you’ll need. Talk with a plumber to get an accurate estimate of the GPM that’s needed for your home. (Source: ENERGY STAR)
Applicable for Residential and Commercial Customers Only: To get an instant discount on a tankless gas water heater, talk with your plumbing contractor to find the right ENERGY STAR® certified unit. They can find details on qualifying units and approval requirements at participating equipment distributor locations or on your utility’s website. HVAC equipment distributors automatically apply our instant discount to the price they charge your contractor, and the contractor should pass this discount to you through a lower equipment installation cost.
